In the next phase of Kahaani, we’ll be collaborating with a professional scriptwriter and a group of young creatives to produce a short film inspired by the 50 voices in our archive. Supported by Create Studios, this project will transform real stories of migration, identity and belonging into a film that celebrates the diversity and resilience of our communities.

Through workshops and hands-on production experience, young people will help shape every stage of the film from concept to screen guided by industry professionals. The Kahaani short film will offer a fresh, contemporary interpretation of the archive’s themes, amplifying the voices of the South West and exploring what it means to call somewhere “home.”
