Abdul Latif
Abdul Latif, born in Pakistan in 1944, came to the UK driven by dreams of travel and education.
Though he initially worked across Europe, he eventually settled in Swindon in the 1990s.
A severe heart condition prevented him from holding regular jobs, which redirected his energy into community service. For over 30 years, he volunteered with racial equality boards, Islamic centres, and charitable causes earning recognition from the Mayor of Swindon.
Deeply committed to moral education and interfaith harmony, Abdul emphasises lawfulness, kindness, and service to others. He considers his greatest reward to be community respect, not material wealth.
