Ashokan Thampy Anapparackal, born in Kerala on 19 December 1981, is a dedicated nurse whose career has taken him from India to Dubai and eventually to the UK.

After qualifying as a nurse in 2004, he pursued his long-held dream of working in the UK, finally arriving in Swindon in 2018. The journey was challenging, passing English tests, completing nursing registration, and waiting nearly three years for approval but he persevered for the sake of his career and family. Initially, adapting to long shifts, communication barriers was difficult, but strong workplace support eased his transition.

Today, Ashokan works at Great Western Hospital, while his wife also serves as a nurse. Together, they raise their children in a supportive environment, valuing both Indian traditions and British opportunities. He continues to support his family in Kerala, cherishes equality and respect in UK society, and sees education as the cornerstone of his family’s future.
