Lakshmi moved to the UK from Guntur, South India, in 2009 to pursue further education and professional development in dentistry.

After living in London, York, and Scotland, she settled in Yeovil in 2013 after her marriage. Initially, the lack of a South Asian community presented challenges, but she and her husband built lasting friendships and found belonging through local events and sports.

Lakshmi proudly owns a dental practice and balances work, motherhood, and cultural preservation raising her children bilingually in Telugu and English. She notes the advantages of a multicultural upbringing, emphasising values like timekeeping, honesty, and resilience.

While she cherishes Indian family closeness, she also appreciates the personal boundaries respected in British culture. Lakshmi values Yeovil for its quiet charm and growing diversity, enjoying both Indian and English cuisines.
