Manny Masih

Manny Masih, born Emmanuel in 1957 near Jalandhar, India, migrated to the UK as a child after his father, an Indian Army veteran, settled in Swindon through the voucher system in the 1960s.

Manny grew up immersed in multiple cultures, attending Sunday schools and joining the Air Cadets, where he was one of the first Indian participants. He helped form football, cricket, and hockey teams, and deeply engaged with the local community.

Through cultural exchanges and humorous misunderstandings like serving flan cases as cakes to church elders Manny developed a love for British life while maintaining his Indian Christian roots. Known for his adaptability and warm personality on the radio, he emphasises the importance of enjoying life, working with others, and learning from generational wisdom. His storytelling reflects both resilience and joy in integration.
