Ram Limbu Thebe
Ram joined the British Army at 17 as a Gurkha soldier and served for 15 years. After retiring, he settled in the UK and advocated for equal treatment of Gurkhas.
His story highlights the disparity in treatment between British-born and foreign-born soldiers, yet he expresses pride in his service. Deeply committed to his Nepali roots, Ram emphasises the importance of remembering one’s culture while adapting to British law and life.
